Dark forces are gathering in Second Life, at least according to this article in the Sydney Morning Herald. Britain's Fraud Advisory Council wants real world financial regulations extended to virtual worlds such as Second Life claiming that terrorists could use Second Life's virtual economy to transfer money. And virtual gambling in Second Life has apparently gotten the attention of the United States Government which is concerned about violations of online gambling laws. Online betting on the horses is legal so I wonder if betting on virtual horse races is OK.
